Weathering the Storm
First - I would like to thank Model - Alexis W. for being there for this shoot. I'm blessed with people who try to make sense of my crazy ideas and being excited and willing to help me achieve what I want.
*Self -Doubt - noun - lack of confidence in oneself and one's abilities.*
One of the hardest things to do as an artist is putting your work out there. People can be so harsh with critique and criticism. They don't think about the weeks worth of planning; they don't think about the hours spent shooting or editing, and creating. They just think at that moment their opinion is the one that matters. Sometimes they're right sometimes an image is just awful, or sometimes they don't understand the meaning behind the image.
As an artist you are to create, imagine and love your work and yourself before you can ask anyone else to do so. I've started submitting images for publication again. I stopped doing it for a while because I felt like I wasn't good enough compared to others around me. I was causing my self-doubt. I was expecting others to believe in me when I didn't' even believe in myself.
I'm taking a step of faith and starting to submit again. Despite the critique or criticism, I'll continue shooting, creating, imagining and improving. As an artist, I get to tell a story. MY WAY. I refuse to fail here I go. Are you ready?
"Failure destroys some people. Others rise from the ashes, only to come back stronger."
“You know your testimony is strong when your roots are so deep that other people’s storms will never knock you over.”
― Shannon L. Alder
2 Timothy 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
